Kandian dance orchid [Oncidium-altissimum]
from our home garden.This belongs to the genus Onicidium, which has more than 300 orchid species.These have been named after it's resemblance to Kandyan Dancers, a traditional form of upcountry dancing in Sri Lanka, where the dancers wear highly ornamented costumes.
